Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) is a member of the NGF family of neurotrophic factors that also include NGF, BDNF and NT-4/5. These secreted neurotrophins are processed proteolytically from a disulfide-containing precursor. The mature and bio-active form of NT-3 is a noncovalentlylinked homodimer of two 13.6kDa identical subunits. StemRD's NT-3is made in human 293 cells which renders natural dimerization and human-specific post-translational modifications. We purified this product through a series of chromatography including HPLC to near homogeneity.
Purity: Greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver staining.
Biological Activity The activity was determined by using a NFAT luciferase reporter gene assay in 293 cells cotransfected with TrkC receptor (Wang, et al., Cellular Assays for High-Throughput Screening for Modulators of Trk Receptor Tyrosine Kinases. Curr Chem Genomics. 2008; 1: 27–33). The EC50 ranges from0.5 - 5.0 ng/ml
